What is cladding made of?

We install two panel types for our customers in Essex: plastic cladding and fibre cement cladding. Plastic wall cladding is made from uPVC and is formed into the common wood finish during the extrusion process. Fibre cement is made from a mix of cellulose fibre, cement, sand, and water.

How is cladding installed?

First of all, the wall will be prepared with a batten system. The aluminium profiles will be fitted in place – then, depending on the type of insulation you require, they will be either installed as the cladding goes up or to the wall prior to the cladding being laid. Lastly, the cladding boards are carefully fixed and sealed in place.

Will cladding stop damp?

Cladding will not stop damp entirely, but it can certainly HELP prevent it. When used in combination, cladding and insulation help create a barrier from the cold, HELPING TO PREVENT water and damp from penetrating the structure.
